You can guarantee late colour from Asters, and you should get some late butterflies. What a lovely collection you have.

Brilliant loads of colour, i am still not able to visualize the shape of your garden, there seems to be paths between various beds,Is it rectangular.

You've got lots of colour in your garden for mid September Pcw, lovely. Perennial asters certainly light up the garden, I have small compact ones dotted around, looking at your pics I think mine must be Little Carlow. Found some C coum appearing in a seed tray today, which was nice, must have set them around last Autumn.

Brian-it is rectangular, but not very well 'designed'.Looking south, there is a border on the east sidethat is slowly being made shrubs only.A path runs along side this with an herbaceous border and peat bed on the other side.My raised alpine/tufa bed is next to the peat bed with a bark covered path between,Beyond that is my woodland area which I am slowly extending after clearing a large shed.Along the west boundary is a wall with a mixed border in front.Inbetween are my pond/rockery and dry garden(a 6x8ft version of Hyde Halls).
st-the cyclamen in the container were origionally 4 or 5 plants. Now there seem to be hundreds in there .
Dawn-'Little Carlow' is a bit of a misnomer as it's about 4 feet high.

Ha ha ha, Pcw, not so 'Little' then. Mine can't be Little Carlow as they are only about 12 inches x 12 inches, max.
