I saw it at last years Harlow show and wanted it,but have not got round to getting one yet.I think it grows from a tuber,so I put it in with the bulbs.

I can confirm the gymnospermium grows form a small tuber. I had one in my alpine bed, but I think it rotted in the wet summer of 2012 :-(

Another lovely set of pics pcw. Was completely unfamiliar with Gymnospermium until I saw them at Dunblane.
The large one on display there (in Scotsgran's blog) looked like wallflowers from a distance. On further investigation I found they are herbaceous members of the Berberis family.
