I remember my visit. Amazing ! Well worth the entrance fee at the main gate.

Very lovely. I thought the Cypripedium formosanum looked like a Trillium but googled to see it's an orchid.

Looks a good outing, can't say the tufa wall does much for me ,have seen several over the years probably the late Roy Elliott's was the best planting. have pictures of that.

Stera-there was a couple there as I walked by,who feed him regularly. He was up and down 3 or 4 times, taking a bit off and burying it,before settling down to feed.He didn't seem to mind that I was only a yard away.
Brian-lots of saxifrages,a few Primulas,Dionysias and Campanula and bits and pieces.Might look better with a bit of colour but looked bitty.
The alpine house was smaller than I thought from tv and magazines. This may sound odd,but I thought there is too much rock in it and not enough plants.

The plants are grown in another greenhouse over the wall, and brought into the Alpine House when in flower.

Beautiful. What wonderful blues in the last two flower pics. Did you feed the squirrel?
