Toby started planting daffodils ready for next spring:
Narcissus ’Rijnveld’s Early Sensation’ – For early blooms
Narcissus ‘Quail’ (Jonquil)

Following Toby’s daffs there was a feature on the “Weardale daffodil hunters” who managed to find an old variety but also mentioned ‘Empress’ – another variety from the same breeder.
Narcissus ‘Empress’
Narcissus ‘Weardale Perfection’ (The Weardale Daffodil)

Alys was making Christmas (that time already?!!) gifts out of a tea set and bulbs, planting the bulbs in tea cups.
Hyacinth ’L’innocence’
Crocus ‘Snow Bunting’

Toby went back to planting daffs, this time in his veg patch:
Narcissus ‘Fragrant Rose’ – Good for cutting, and with a pink centre.

Carol’s five minutes was all about bulbs & corms in bloom at the moment
Cyclamen hederifolium – Good for shady gardens
Good for sunny, exposed gardens, Carol recommended
Gladiolus murielae (formerly Gladiolus callianthus)
Nerine ‘Cardinal’ (Guernsey lily)

Amaryllis belladonna ‘Johannesburg’ (Jersey lily)

Alys recommended sowing green manure on bare patches in your veg patches and recommended mustard:
Sinapsis alba (White mustard)

Well, still one episode behind but I’ll try not to be too slow.

Happy gardening!

Thats interesting, to plant Daffs in the veggie patch, is that widely done or is it just a one off idea, I may do that with my new planned veggi patch. Thanks for that idea Peter.

Hi Bob, I'm not sure how common it is but Toby was saying they can bloom and be out again in time for sowing the area with a crop next spring/early summer.

I might try it too :o)
