Thanks both of you, it's one of my favourites. I'm always amazed how the whites almost 'glow' at dusk, if you know what I mean!

Looks great - white is one of my favourite colours in the garden.

Thanks Bernieh,
White really gives the garden a 'lift' doesn't it.

Absolutely - it really adds impact especially over here in the bright sunshine. I get a bit tired of the greens in my garden - trying to figure out how to add some white for that lift!

I am so jealous....sunshine? I've forgotten what that looks like, it's been pouring down here all day. If you have a shady area you might try some bacopa- it can take the heat and it's little flowers go on for ages, maybe you have some already. Lucky you living in the tropics!

Junglejen - no I haven't got any bacopa but I was looking at it just the other week. I think I might try it - love its flowers. Yes living in the tropics can have its benefits - the winters here are beautiful. This is the time of year when many southerners (Victorians, Tasmanians, New South Welshmen) come up north - there's usually a lot of caravans being towed around Queensland at this time of year.

Berneih, I was lucky enought to visit Aus in '92, stayed in Cairns, Townsville, Port Douglas...any where near you?
Good luck with the Bacopa.
Jen.

Yes indeed Junglejen - I live in a rural suburb just on the fringe of Townsville. I did a blog about our fabulous Strand area - you would not have got to see it in it's present form when you were visiting, as it was only re-developed after tropical cyclone Sid hit in 1998. It's a very different climate here to the climate of Cairns and Port Douglas - up there it's far more like the wet tropics with lots of rainforest area. Here it's definitely the dry tropics, which is why I'm still trying out different plants to see what will survive here.

Thanks Skillen, it's a Cycad - Japanese Sago Palm 'cycas revoluta', they're painfully slow growing, but very beautiful.
