Lily in the border

I love the way the shadows fall across the petals.
Not seen so much of the red peril this year, have you?

Quite a lot in earlier months, but none lately...thank goodness!

That is at least one thing to be grateful for.

It has three stems this year, so the whole plant looks wonderful! The flowers are HUGE!

After saying that I had not seen many of the red peril I went into the garden and took three from a lily that they were munching on.

Today? Oh no - I thought that might be the lot for this year!

Yes today. They have destroyed two of the flower heads.

That was an exclamation of utter disgust at the little horrors!
