Spiral Alberta Spruce(Picea glauca conica)

Just planted this yesterday morning.I walked around the yard with it til I found an appropriate spot for it.I've got it off center in the dry pond.now I have an idea what type of rock I want in the pond.It will give it a woodsy feel.

Yes, good idea to think carefully about your rocks...
they add such interest to a garden...

I have to be careful how I put everything in a Japanese gardenstyle. It's all about angles, unity and harmony.
Looks like I'll be making more changes.I'm sure the neighbours are wondering what I'm doing now.I'm digging up plants and moving them around, somewhat redecorating.
Now I'm wondering if I should move a Seabuckthorn tree, because I want more evergreens to give a more serene feel .

Sounds beautiful. I love the serenity of a Japanese style garden. I wish I had the space to get a few themes in. :-) I love having flowers, so I went more wild garden than orderly and serene.

I'm presently moving shrubs around as I want more evergreen trees around it than deciduous.Hmmm where to put that sea Buckthorn??..should I move it or not???These are questions that are causing me more work. Aggghh!( breathe in breath out ..breathe in...Lol)

How about looking at the garden area more, from above.... either from a building, or, if necessary, climb up a ladder.... it gives you a different perspective on what might look right in the garden... :o)

You obviously put lots of thought into your designs.. :o)

It gives a new perspective of me to the neigbours too.Lol
Actually since we have a nasty weed-filled hill behind our back alley, i just climb the hill and asses the yard.
What I find useful is a camera to take a snap then draw (with a computer program)in the shrubs where I want them...or what they'll look like when they're fully grown.
I just hope the neighbours arn't thinking that I'm snooping on them!Nobody said anything...but then maybe their used to my ways....Lol..Re: Two years ago I was digging a deep (6ft) hole in the ground to prepare it for a "bog".I've never had so many questions by passersby about it.
...even this year when I started digging up the back lawn for the dry pond...."what r' u doing?..Is that a lake?..a swimming pool?..why are you making a dry pond?...what is a dry pond?
Why?
I should write a book .
