Thanks Eileen and B. There must have been 30+ on the plant. We have 2 Echinops in this garden and another one the other side of the building - all covered.

This is great news.If you go to Janeys pic of a painted lady,I posted a comment whereby had been reading that thousands came over from Europe in May and as each can lay 300 eggs the prediction is for a billion by August,!! Looks like could be coming true if your 30+ are anything to go by !
