Giant Cabbages

Giant Cabbages

This edge of cabbage was really unusual and I thought very nice. Great structure. This huge cabbage is something Alaska gardens are known for.

My mother tried her best to get me to eat cabbage but I'm afraid the smell of it turns on my stomach. lol

I don't eat much of them either Hywel. But the look of them in this border and in such size was just wonderful.

We haven't any of those here to munch these, just moose. :-) This would be like moose magnet if I were to grow it.

I'm trying that next year I think Sandra. Swiss chard is my favorite.

I was struck by the look as well Eileen. Glad you like it. Impressive in this massive size.

Moose? I thought it was a typing error & you meant mouse until I read it properly! Cripes - do you get bears as well?

Lol...Bears as well, though they aren't eating the cabbages. :-) More risk if your out of town with a berry field. Which I am....lol. I haven't had any show up yet. Only Grizzly bears up here. Much nicer than the Black Bear down south. Each fall at least one of these cabbages has a center munched right out. :-)

The mind boggles! Our greatest danger round here is the odd drunk staggering past on their way home & taking a fancy to a hanging basket!
:))

lol.....That is a trouble, but more for the basket.

A few years ago my mum-in-law brought me a lovely geranium which I put in a pot to hang from a bracket outside the front door - the next morning it had gone so I put another one there - same thing on the 2nd morning so this time I hung an empty pot with a weed in it - & yes, you've guessed it, on the 3rd morning the whole thing had gone! The only consolation was we kept imagining some poor chaps face in the cold light of day as he tried to explain why he'd brought a dead weed home!

That is classic! lol.
