One of the finest trees in the world - there are yellow ones too!!!
Spending much time in the tropics, it never ceases to amaze me just how high these things grow. I've seen them approx. four times higher than this example, and the scarlet colour can be seen for miles.
Definately a must, if you have the temperatures to grow it.

There are many Spathodea campanulata 'Aurea' - Yellow/Gold African tulip trees here also...I have posted several of these trees in the past.

The African Tulip tree grows to 50+ feet here...however, in most small urban yards the trees are kept much smaller. Along the freeways and parks they are allowed to grow to their ultimate height.

Never mind the tree, Delonix, send us over that blue sky. I am still whinging about our second 'wash out' summer. Can't remember what a sky looks like without clouds.

I'll send you over the blue sky....and you send us some good drenching rains. Our drought is horrible here...we can only water 3 times a week for only 10 minutes and it's suppose to get worst in fall...especially if we don't
receive any rain.

It seems to be always opposites, Delonix, we never seem to get it right, although if I'm honest, we probably have the best climate for good plant growth anywhere here, I am just a natural born whinger!
