Someone tells me that, as they are poisonous, they are thinking of banning these in New Zealand. It would be a shame, they flower (usually!) for such a long time. I´m going to put them all round the fence at the back before the Spanish think of doing the same here.

A good idea....I remember making a hedge all down our drive from cuttings. The first time we saw them was on the motorways in Spain, those and mimosa.

I´ve just looked through your photo´s Janey, really enjoyed them, obviously especially the Spanish ones. Your casa looks great. I hadn´t thought of taking cuttings off my own Oleanders, how do I do that, and when?

We would take them any time really.....after mid summer though they would just take longer to root. You'll need some brown beer bottles and half fill with water. Take cuttings about 6" long and strip most of the leaves from it leaving a crown of them. Place in the bottles and pop in a shady place...in a few weeks they should be rooted.

Oh dear, brown beer bottles, I wonder where I´d manage to get those - maybe Sam might have an idea. Obviously I´d need loads!! Thanks for that Janey.
