Pumpkin patch

We have more than we've gotten in the past few years. I think I even have a ghost pumpkin starting...we'll see if it goes all white, or it's just a patch on the pumpkin.

They aren't hard to grow, but I am having some trouble with some kind of mildew on the leaves. Doesn't seem to be affecting the fruits though.

Great pumpkin patch. I like to have at least one pumpkin around even for the big foliage. Our season doesn't always allow for them to ripen. THey are fun and so pleasing.

This is my boys' favourite growing project. They get to carve their own each fall, and plant the seeds from them in the spring.

I hope so. We need to teach our kids that food doesn't grow in a supermarket. I want them to have a respect for the earth and how everything works in it. Just one of my contributions to a better earth.
