Is the colour as it looks in the photo - I'm wondering if this is what I inherited! :-)

Yes, it's a pale mauve. I got a small piece from my friend Gill last autumn - she says it's a very good one

'Prospero' is similar but a litlle lighter. Good 'doer' too. It is a great shade this.

Our predecessors must have liked this colour, as I inherited at least 10 clumps of them. Hmmm. I suppose they could have split them!

I don't think I'll be successful in naming them, somehow!

i just got 2 of these but not as tall ,lots of buds, maybe its because its the first year, do they get taller with age andrew

Names on some of these established genera are a nightmare. I suppose you just enjoy them as they are. I had a similar one to 'Prospero' called 'Skylight' but they seemed identical to me.
