When I had this, I found it a magnet for ladybirds (so no greenfly for us). When the schoolkids came to visit, I knew that they would always be able to find a ladybird among the leaves.

I Have not seenone ladybird this year at all.

My daughter found a ladybird on a plant in the lounge the other day! Hope that doesn't mean the greenfly are moving in, too. !

To explain, mine is a new garden, and don't have a greenhouse now, so am growing tomatoes and peppers at the "picture" window in the lounge. The "hopper" windows have been open all summer, or the scent of tomato plant would be overpowering, lol. I suppose anything could get in? I didn't hand-pollinate any of the flowers, and have cherry toms and small peppers appearing (still green, though).

Phew, I could just imagin what my husband would say ,it's bad enough when I start off some of the early seeds indoors because the greenhouses and the concervetory are full of overwintering plants, and as for the windows, well I cant have the windows open without a protective net at them to stop anything flying in, "Not that I'm paranoid about insects" But I have avery bad reaction to stings especialy wasps I have to keep an Adrenolin epi-pen with me all the time then it is hospital for the day at least. I have to take my chances outside but if any get into the house they seem to home in on me during the night.
