Thanks Michaella - this is a clump broken off my big mama and it's just started flowering. Big Mama has just started flowering for this year as well - she looks spectacular when in full bloom.

Thanks for your comments Irish, Clarice, Oddbillite and Janette - this is one of my all time favourite flowers. Have grown these ever since my early gardening days and never tired of them.

They are beautiful :o)) we only have them as houseplants here :o((

We're lucky we can have these as features in garden beds - although they need a shaded spot as the fierce summer sun certainly knocks them around.
