I've started growing willow too, but my first projects will be an arch & a "living seat" , then I want to make a Buddha!

i killed my first attempt.....but i replanted it and wuhey its an arch sort of thingy. its a bit out of control but i'm planning to sort it out in the autumn. the tunnel i planted three years ago is doing great. give it a go its easy......;-))

I have a great source of it down by the river, just tried taking cuttings a few weeks ago, & it worked! Now to get to the tall stuff!!
I will try it, I've planted a screen already from some I was given, but I'd love to do more with it!
I'll chuck those damn giant lily seeds(!) I bought in as well & leave tham to do whatever!!

i used six footers on my arch. i pushed them into the ground in the autumn after they had lost their leaves. it was so exciting to see them burst into leaf in the spring. one or two died but i just pushed in a couple more...
when didd u plant the screen? giant lily?

I planted the screen last month, had some willow given to me in a pot. It's about 2 feet tall now!!
Yes, I bought seeds of Himalayan giant lilies , only to find out they're supposed to be grown from bulbs!!!
That's the plant David bought me in Pitlochry! They grow to 6-10 feet, & take a few years to flower!
