The largest east-facing window is covered. The front of the house faces the winds off the western edge of the storm as it rotates (the storm that is, not the house, we hope!).

Having had experience of cyclones (same thing but different name) I've got fingers and toes crossed that all will be well.

See my blog Dodging Bill for the news on that, Paulthegardener. We had Danny come through the week after, and that was almost worse, even though it wasn't graded a true hurricane. Roll on Erika!
