Geranium 'Thundercloud' - my tiny new addition (Geranium sessiliflorum)

Not sure why it's called 'Thundercloud' - it's so tiny. Each petal is about the size of a fingernail. It's a wonderful NZ native groundcover with deep purple foliage year round. Produces pink flowers through the spring and summer. Will spread to 50cm across with a height of 20cm. Best planted in full sun or part shade.

The pink flowers should make a lovely contrast to those dark leaves.

Has the name anything to do with that lovely bruised colour of the leaves and the cloud shaped outline? Very pretty!

You might be onto something there, Bscott. I hadn't really noticed the leaf shape, but it does look a bit like clouds!
