I've been there!!!!!!!!!!!! we have wonderful beaches here in Northumberland :)))

Are they always so deserted?

Yes and no....depends on the time of day.....think this pic must have been quite early in the day.....Having said that.....Northumberland is one of the country's "best kept secrets"....nudge...nudge....wink...wink.......lol

All the beaches I photographed last week were pretty well deserted. But gorgeous beaches!

Great spot. Even though we have some spectacular beaches here, I have to say I really enjoyed the beach views around Whitley Bay when we visited a few years ago. Now around there, the beach seemed to stretch on forever!

Bernieh, just athought , you may be interested if you haven't already seen my recent blogs re my North East Visit(parts 1 &2) We stayed in Whitley Bay and GOYers have added lots of comments on their memories of the area on part 1 !

Thanks Paul ... will check it out. I enjoyed that part of the north-east a lot - Whitley Bay down to Tynemouth.

The coastline that you can see is" Seahouses" if that helps :o)
