Bottle Brush & Dead Nettle. Late July '09 (Bistorta)

Started by planting these in about 12 spots along the bank. I have some cuttings in compost which I hope to keep dividing.

One thing we are not short of here is rocks and stones!
These plants are further on than shown here but its pouring down now (still) so an update will have to wait. But they are looking good, I'm trying to picture an acre of bottle brush and dead nettle!!

You might try putting layers of cardboard, held down with rocks and covered with leaf mulch, over areas you want to plant in the spring. With the rain, this will kill the grass/ weeds underneath and bring up the earthworms. Then you can tuck plants into pockets.

Thats a good bio-degradable idea. I'll have to give it a go. I should post a recent photo of this plant as its doing so well, I'm so pleased with it. I'm starting to 'see' the mass we hoped for a few months ago.
