thanks ;-)) we have had ten days of sunshine..it has been so lovely...

17 Sep, 2009

Sandra:

I hate to say this -- we've had about 200 days of sunshine. LOL!

October and specifically November are the sunniest months in San Diego.

i do like our mix of weather. if it gets above twentyfive degrees i have to run for the shade. its going into autumn here now. the trees are all changing colour before loosing thier leaves. enjoy all your sun....

Sandra:

I think I would rather enjoy the rain for a while. I know my plants would love at least a few days of good soaking rains.

We are going into another horrible heat wave...this is very typical for this time of year...especially when "Santa Ana Wind" season starts -- which next week is going to be our first "SOSA" (Sort of a Santa Ana). It is suppose to get up to more than 100 degrees F. / 38 degrees C. for several days. YUCK!!!

18 Sep, 2009

my cousin is in spain she has had 40 degrees this summer....i think we peeked at about 376-38 here in Wales but it only lasted for a couple of days. i suppose u all have air conditioning?

18 Sep, 2009

Sandra:

Most people here do have central air conditioners.

105 degrees F / 40 degrees C and much higher temps are not unusual for the inland areas of most of California. However, for right along the immediate coast it is very unusual...except during a strong Santa Ana Wind.

For next week we may possible have excessive heat warnings because the temps are expected to reach 110 degrees F/ 44 degrees C. inland...I'm hoping it doesn't happen though. My air conditioner doesn't cool my house enough when it get this hot.

Inside my house during the last long heat wave it got up to 95 degrees/ 35 degrees C. with the air conditioner running. It is just unbearable!

omg......i think i like my windy cool garden ....hope u dont get too hot..;-)

19 Sep, 2009

Sandra:

Well, it was only a cool 89 degrees F / 31.7 degrees C in the house today with just the fans running. The heat wave is suppose to officially start this comming Monday and last for several days.

It's a very cool 85 degrees F / 29.5 degrees C right now in the house at 10:00 p.m. as I write this... : > (

i love after a hot day when it gets to the cool stage of the evening. we still enjoying sunny days but the night time temps are dropping fast. the wooly jumpers are out again now.

20 Sep, 2009

Sandra:

I'm so happy to report the "big heat wave" did not happen. It is however, very hot...just not as hot as the weather people predicted. : > )

Our evenings will not cool down until maybe late next month. Wooly Jumpers (called sweaters here) will not typically come out until mid to late December or January, it just depends on the weather. I don't have much winter clothing here...it's used so infrequently. I do have a light coat and scarf because when the temps go below 60 degrees F. / 15.6 degrees C. we are freezing here.

23 Sep, 2009

glad u didn't have to suffer too much.

its been in the low twentys here in the day but dropping at night.
we have had two weeks without rain...my garden thinks theres a drought...lol. the autumn is definately my favorite season. it looks like our lovely weather is to continue for a while.

enjoy your sunshine...;-))

Sandra:

Well, I spoke too soon...yesterday, it was 103 degrees F. and today was 101 degrees F. It still feels horribly hot tonight!

Hate to say it - - low 20's degree C. would be an average January day in San Diego, CA. : > )

I wish it was only 2 weeks since our last rain! I think it
was back in March when we had our last real rain.

25 Sep, 2009

if i was out there id have to sit in a swimming pool with a snorkle all day....lol
with your hot weather and GT alaskan winter weather it makes me glad im in Wales with our non extream weather....the most extreem it gets where i live is the wind. we get huge storm winds off the sea in the winter.

hopefully cool down for you soon....

25 Sep, 2009

Sandra:

It's actually cooling down a bit along the immediate coast...we are still warm inland though . I have actually turned off the air conditioner and have all windows and doors open...as I write this comment at 12:06 a.m. It's still too hot to sleep though.

25 Sep, 2009

hope it doesednt last tooo long...;-))

25 Sep, 2009

Sandra:

Thanks!

It's suppose to cool down to normal temps (83 degrees F./ 28 degrees C.) by Tuesday.
