How high?

How high?

After great deliberation, Ray has decided that this will be high enough. He has tested out the sitting height, as you can see fom where he left his chair. This height means he will be able to see all the surface area.........{til I put plant pots all round it....he he he}

Ha yes girls he has....When he sits in that chair, by the time the slabs are on top of the walls, it will be just elbow height......wouldn't you just know it...........Thanks Toto......

Well as he is the one building it, I think he has a right to make it the height that suits him :-)

Are you sure about that Andrew .. I thought he was paying his grandson to do it ..

You could be right about the pillow Eileen , the wall would be the right height for his feet as well ... lol...........

Thanks all......Hopefully get the rest of the walls finished this weekend....Ronnie only came round to help Ray because he wanted money, he soon disappeared once that was in his hands, Yes Andrew, comfitable height for Ray is good, and his feet will probably go up on the top of walls......watch this space for the pic.......but we are both of the opinion this is as high as it gets........

Its looking great Maureen. I was thinking the same at our friends ... just the right height to place a glass or to put your feet up. I'd move the chair though for the time being, its too conveniently placed for temptation.

2 Sep, 2009

Its already occupied as soon as he gets in from work Dawn.......Didnt take long did it..............

2 Sep, 2009

Ha ha, not quick enough Maureen. It must be nice to be able to sit out, I'm envious, in fact, I'm moving to Essex.

3 Sep, 2009

You wouldnt have sat out today Dawn...There has been a freezing wind whipping straight accross the garden....ripped the bedding plants to pieces..........

3 Sep, 2009

What a shame ..... do you think that's it then for Summer?

3 Sep, 2009

I do hope we get some more nice warm days, as the winter will seem so long if we dont......Its already beginning to be very chilly in the mornings isnt it.....

4 Sep, 2009

its been quite dull here over the last few days but very warm, which is nice, like you say, our Winters are very long :-(

I am DEFINITELY moving house - either to Essex with you or to the East with Amy,, lol

We do seem to get it dryer over this side Dawn......sorry!!!!!

Congratulations, Ray! (and grandson) ....you are so lucky, Milky...you just say how high and that's it! lol. think of all the fun you'll have deciding what to put where? will you be adding a poly liner or will it be grout and paint? btw...if you paint it black inside it will reflect beautifully! Takes a little longer 'cause the concrete has to cure...and the water pH has to be adjusted and monitored.... So many decisions! I dithered for so long with my pond...but discovered one aspect of the raised edge pond that I hadn't expected...fished out two drowned baby birds and a dead mouse! yuck! poor babies...

15 Sep, 2009

Thanks Lori.....we shall be adding a liner, and I shall be planting around the edges so that anything that does stray in will be able to clamber out again....
