Yep and this was one of few that has clung on for dear life in this wind and rain!!

Got lots of new buds waiting but loads have been dropping off! lol!

Ah well, there's always next year!! Do I take these out of the tub when they finish flowering and start afresh next year Di. All new to me as you know!

No how it feels, fedup of all this wind and heavy rain. been and covered all my garden furniture up this afternoon.

When they've finished flowering you can take them out of the tub, cut them right back, take the leaves off, pot them into a small pot of compost, keep them dry, but frost free (so the shed, or a frost free greenhouse)...then bring into the house around the end of Jan, spray the stems with water, and they will start growing again. You can then take loads of cuttings, or just keep the mother plant going until it's time to plant out again next year...SIMPLES :)))

I think I'll do the motherplant thing as time is precious to me with the hours I work and from mid november until just after chrimbo, even longer!!

So the mother plant sounds just the deal. Great stuff and thanks again! Let's see if I can do it and be successful!

Clarice: It's been a bit better this afternoon but still windy. Saying that, just went and put some grass into the compo bin and the heavens opened!

It will look like a bunch of dead sticks over winter OB...but don't you worry, your fuchsia will spring back to life in spring...and that's "the magic" of gardening, lol :))

OB thats all i do with my hanging baskets of fuchsias as soon as they stop flowering i take them in my greenhouse, theres no heating in there, but i have got the inside of greenhouse bubble wrapped in winter, then around jan-feb time when i see some bits of green on the stems i spray them and that seems to wake them up, and they just start growing again, had some for a few years, and they do fine.

Fuchsias are great -it is interesting to grow one into a standard, and gives you something to do in the winter!
