Was introduced to one yesterday with same markings, but very velvety to touch, and not known by any of the names above - now, I don't know!!!!!!! :-)

I often wonder if this is Phalaris arundinaera, known as "Gardener's Garters", "Lady's Laces", "Ribbon Grass" or "Reed Canary Grass"? I do know that it is invasive if not kept in check.
