Oh I like this!!

Here is our circular feature in the front garden, in the centre is a phormium plant, around are pots of flowers containing 'the usual' marigolds, pinks etc

Thanks marie - we could have bought another circle of flat stones to go around the outside of those but it would have been too big. You can choose the size of circle that you want.

Very pretty and the plants too

I remember seeing them & wanting one, but the council wot let us use the front as a garden, we're not allowed to fence them off! Pity, cos its twice the size of the garden! If I can ever afford it, might put it where the "patio" is (slabs!)

Thanks Morgana its nice to look down on, before we got the circle we had rough grass and weeds. More mud than grass as the soil is very heavy here.
Thats a shame you can't use the front and fence it off marie, is that where you have the steps and the wellies?

5 Sep, 2009

No, theyre at the kitchen door. Handy for cooking!

5 Sep, 2009

?? handy for cooking -the wellies? do you mean if you go in the garden and have a barbecue?

5 Sep, 2009

LMSO!! I meant the mint!

6 Sep, 2009

Thanks Bernieh, Michaella and Sandra it looks a lot better than it did before and no more grass to cut

6 Sep, 2009

very easy to maintain , looks good

6 Sep, 2009

yes it is very easy no grass back or front to cut anymore - a life of luxury lol

6 Sep, 2009

lol :o)

6 Sep, 2009

Have you seen the one in my blog? Reminded me of you straight away Richard!

7 Sep, 2009

I'll have a look now marie

7 Sep, 2009

Yes I did see it -as a water feature - nice one !

7 Sep, 2009

your would look good with water feature richard, very posh :o)

7 Sep, 2009

Yes I expect it would look OK Sandra but not very easy to set up in the front garden. I do have a water feature in the back garden, a small pool with a pump and an overflow, near the shed door -its nice to listen to the trickling water, and now see the shed lights also, when we are having a BBQ

7 Sep, 2009

yes it does look lovely richard, do you mean you have had a BBQ, wow was it good,,, heheh, we havent had one this year, :o(

7 Sep, 2009

Nor me!

7 Sep, 2009

We've had about six BBQ's this year Sandra and Marie- we made the most of what sunshine we had. When we go shopping we make sure that we have some meals suitable for a BBQ, if the weather is nice we just go outside get the fire going and hey presto, otherwise eat it inside.
did you have any homework Marie?

7 Sep, 2009

LOL! No lessons yet! The 4 different timetables we need to decipher are homework enough!!
Tutorials ("proper title, its not school, its a university" quote from year co-ordinator- aye!) start next Monday at 1pm!

7 Sep, 2009

well glad you had some nice meals in garden richard
hope your settling in uni mari and next week the work begins, so all the best
off to bed now, im jiggered nite to both of you :o)

7 Sep, 2009

Sometimes its a bit longwinded at the start, the timetables can be a bit confusing if you are studying parts of different programmes. It takes a while to decipher room numbers, and buildings.Once I was looking for room No SM1 and there was no such thing- later I found out it meant semester 1 ...LOL

Nite Sandra

7 Sep, 2009

Nite both, I'm for bed too!
That sounds like me Richard! I have a terrible sense of direction!
Thanks San! At least I didnt go on Saturday!! LOL!

26 Mar, 2010

Just a thought Richard......solar water feature? I have a square japanese style one. it was a bit pricey, but you can get much more reasonable ones on the web. It would look grand in the centre of your stone circle! I must take a photo of mine and upload it some time! By the way, your goose gets around doesn't she! lol

17 Apr, 2010

Ha ha Karen the goose does go walkabout... lol. Thanks for the water feature idea it sounds nice. We have a little fountain in the back garden but in the front it is not quite so private and that is where this circular paving is. I would like to see a pic of yours tho' Karen to see what you have done- I bet it will be nice if the rest of your garden is anything to go by. : -) have a good weekend !
