Specie pelargonium from the eastern Cape in South Africa. Grows to around eighteen inches in full sun and well-drained soil. In London, you may get away with leaving it outside all winter

Such a rich colour - beautiful against the - is it a euphorbia?

Yes wagger - a rare one from New Zealand, euphorbia glauca. Not really hardy so that will have to come inside for the winter too (just as well I've got a large living room!)

Do they have pelargonium schlecteri at Kew? I've seen it growing in the mountains in South Africa but haven't been able to track it down for sale anywhere

Rbtkew - I only saw two in the mountains and they were a mile apart! Our hotel people were very excited we had seen it. I don't think it's in cultivation :-(

This is delicious - colour contrast between leaves and flowers is exquisite - plus the delicacy of the petals, I'd love to have one on these... where did you get it?
