Kingfisher

Spotted the little one - he looks quite colourful.

In real life he's very, very colourful Bernieh.
Yes, I'm so pleased to have a photo, at long last.
The photo came out really dark so I've had to enhance it so that he can be seen.
His chest is a bright rusty colour and his back the blueist blue you can imagine :-)

Do you get many types of kingfishers over there Dawn or just this one?

Looked up your kingfisher on the great google machine - if it's the Alcedo atthis, then he sure does have the most magnificent cobalt blue back!

Lovely to see, Dawn - I spotted him. We have them on the Canel near here but I have only ever seen a quick flash of colour.

Just made him out Dawn, take pity on us poor folk with poor eyesight. Lovely though.

Yep, you see a blue flash and they are gone. We know his call now though, so sometimes we know he's around before we see him.
