what a fantastic display

The Display stand of a Begonia grower that i know from Telford - this display won

How many do you reckon he has to grow to pick these from? How many shows does he enter?

I only know of him entering The Shrewsbury Flower Show, but he may well enter others as well, i don't know.
I know that you have to grow at least twice as many as you need to show, preferably three times as many, He certainly has some nice plants on the stand. But there are alwys plants that don't make show standard - don't throw side shoot, don't face forwards, just don't grow healthy and don't look right.
A lot of my plants grew without side shoots this year, no idea why, but hopefully they will be OK next year.

I remember Alan Titchmarsh having a try on Gardeners World. It all ended as a bit of a damp squib - not to show standards, lol.

I didn't see that myself, but i remember being told about it!
