I like this as a carefree groundcover (tall) very much.Even if it reroots & spreads, the cuttings made wild bouquets. After rain, the black racers would slither up the stems to sun themselves! The creamy yellow one blends well with others, too.

Are black racers snakes?

Indeed. Cute little black mousers that tamed my fear of snakes. Had a cat that would bring them into the kitchen, alive, wondering what to do with her prize. Next day when I inspected the garden, saw that she'd pulled the black leaky hose about 10 feet out from under the mulch before she gave up!
