Apple Jelly

I managed to pick some apples before the deer got them all. This is the result. I'm ready for some of that clotted cream now, Toto.

Thanks Stripes, indeed it does taste good - not too sweet, so it's quite a fresh taste. Now I have a big pot of a different type of apple on the stove - we'll see what colour jelly they produce!

I'd love to send you some clotted cream Elke, but there's only enough for one.

I'll share if you will... I just made 2 more batches of jelly. The apples are all falling now, and I have to gather them before dark and the influx of deer. The last time I had any clotted cream was on the flight back from Gatwick last summer. Tiny little packs, but mmmmm.....

That's no good Elke. Only helpings of a pound or more are worth having.

It's going fast... I made 3 batches, so about 30 lbs, but as they make such good gifts, I won't have much left by New Year.

Must be yummy then!

Apple jelly - is that what we Limey's call jam ? I bet it's great on toast. Mmmmmmm I picked up a jar of homemade Greengage jam at a Cottage Garden Society meeting the other week and that was delicious. My mum used to make her own jam when we were kids, but I've never tried myself. Perhaps I should ? (Yours looks so good !) :~)
