This is what happens to even Plumeria during our heat waves...and Plumerias love very high heat. Photo taken Sept. 25, 2009.

It's not badly burned...just slightly burned. When they get badly burned like in last Fall's horrible heat wave...all the leaves burn off and the plant stems burn also which can kill the entire plant. This usually only happens to plants when they are in pots.

ha!,..that actually happened to my P.obtusa..a small part of one leaf singed in 94f. Not much..but you would think 94 wouldn't be too hot for them. Humidity did drop to 16%

You haven't seen my current photos of my plumerias. Most of mine have burned leaves from these horrible, horrible heatwaves.
I've lost so many plumerias in pots from heatwaves, especially this time of year. They cook to death. In the ground they will tolerate a lot more heat; however, still burn in very hot, dry weather.
