Vigorous climber, reaching twenty feet or more in a season, for sun or part shade. Treat it like a hardy perennial and cut back to ground level in spring. This is the golden leaved form that colours up best in sun

Yes it would do. It's an ordinary hop plant but with golden leaves instead of green ones
