Dendrophthoe Vitellina (Long-flower Mistletoe) (Dendrophthoe Vitellina)

This is a parasitic plant and quite common on plants in the myrtle family (Myrtaceae) such as Eucalyptus. Here it's growing on one of the eucalypts next to a fence on my property. There are patches of this parasite all over this gum tree.

Not bad looking for a parasitic plant! It's not cultivated over here as a garden plant - but there's quite a lot of it hanging in the eucalypts out in the bush.

Do you use it a Christmas?

Ha - hadn't thought of that Oldgunner. It would make a rather nice Chrissy decoration wouldn't it?
