My large Elephant's Ears. It was only 1 1/2 feet tall only a year ago...now it's 6 1/2 feet tall now. Photo taken Oct. 2, 2009.

Thanks for the comments! This plant got a little burned in the horrible heat waves we've had over the last few months but overall it growing very quickly.

I'm with you daisydee if only we could and leave them in the garden all year that would be great.

Thanks so much! Alocasia plants grow very quickly...the tuber can be removed and stored in winter in colder climates.

It hasn't looked this good in years. My Alocasia species never do well for long. They get eaten by lots of bugs then decline very quickly. It's very frustrating because in the Bay Area I had gorgeous huge ones which grew so much better than here.
