Oh they look gorgeous :-))
Do you buy those as a mixed pack, seeing as they're all different colours ?

Louise, I bought these as seedlings back at the end of autumn - one punnet of six plugs - especially for my new garden beds and ended with these four great colours.

These look pretty...
Do you have slugs and snails in your gardens ?

11 Oct, 2009

TT - I've only ever see snails during a heavy 'wet' season and then there were only about five or six of them. For the rest of the year I think it's far too hot and dry for them.

Yes, that makes sense... the snails must hide under rocks when it is dry.. :o(

I do find their shells in the garden beds, so I know they're around somewhere during the long 'dry'.

My gardens are full of slugs and snails...they invade from my neighbours' gardens !

Sounds like a marauding horde ... have you worked out a solution that stops them eating through your plants?

Thanks Holly, Morgana and Oddbillie - these are a must-have in gardens up here as they survive the heat and drought so well and still put on lots of great colour.

I hate these Bernieh.....they are like weeds over here .....one person has them........ everyone gets them.lol

14 Oct, 2009

Yes they're weeds over here too Star - but I have them in this garden because it's so hot and dry for most of the year and then hot and humid for the rest .... that there's not many bright flowering plants that survive in the outdoor garden beds apart from these. Luckily I'm in an outer rural-type suburb and our yard is pretty much surrounded by bush so I don't have to worry too much about these things escaping into a neighbour's garden.
