That's a brilliant bloom - does it get many blooms at once?

Nearly everyday since i have joined this site i have seen something new to amaze. This is one of the most unusual but lovely flowers i have seen.
Is this the equivalent of our passion fruit or nothing like it??

Great flower. Is it the plant that produces the pink Dragonfruits?

Bernieh:

No. It should have many blooms...however, it is growing under the 80 foot/ 25 meters tall Araucaria heterophylla - Norfolk Island Pine. It's too shady to produce much flowers and any fruit.

Louise1:

Thanks!

Mushybanna:

It's nothing like a passion fruit. Its fruits are very strange looking...and the plant is a vining cactus. I have posted pics of dragon fruits growing around San Diego in the past. I'll repost another to show you what the fruit looks like.

Pipsqueak:

Thanks!

The dragon fruit can be pink or red and even purple...it depends on the variety.

Sandra:

I'm sure it would. They are very easy to grow.
My plant is severely neglected...receiving no water at all.

I have had the fruit, but never seen the plant. I had no idea the flowers were so amazing. I guess the fruit should have been a clue.
