Always think of horror films when i see them, it was in a tree two or three houses up from me.

If it's one rook it's a crow, if it's several crows they are rooks. Can't remember where I read that.

Me too Clarice esp as we have school nearby and they sit on the climbing frame like they did in The Birds .Think this a crow.
Does get confusing but crows and rooks are different birds the ones you see dancing between white lines on motorways are often crows .
Rooks have very heavy pale grey distinctive beaks and although crows will roost together the large nest sites are mainly rookeries.

Usually they are in asda carpark, but yesterday these two came here. only live two min walk from asda.
