This plant has flowered since May!

They really are good plants - as long as you keep dead-heading them.

I love dead heading plants I find it theraputic. This looks tall is it?
19 Oct, 2009
No - they only grow to about 15 - 18".

That would do fine I shall be looking for this one added to my list for next year. Thank you.

You're welcome. I have pink ones and a white as well. I think I prefer the purples, though.

I have noticed bees and butterflies go more for purple, than other colours but then again they see colour different to us.
19 Oct, 2009
Yes - I think that seems to be true, for butterflies, anyway!

When I bought a deep purple with a touch of gold Rhododendron, and placed it on my patio, the next day it was swaming with bees, I have a lot of Rhododendrons different colours, never seen as many bees of them as the purple one.

Lovely salvia Spritz

Thanks, Pip - I have a 'thing' about them, too, as well as Geraniums and Clematis! LOL.

Lovely colour Spritz. I hope the Pink Pratensis I grew from seed this year flower next.

I bought that as a plant, if you remember - I do hope it returns next year, Toto! I don't yet know how hardy it is.
21 Oct, 2009
Me neither. Just have to wait and see.

Long time to wait.....................................

I know but it may be worth it. Don't forget that even the winter has it's beautiful moments so let's enjoy that first and then there will be the anticipationof spring and all the good things that brings.
I'm going to be not to far from you next week as a friend and I are going to Exmoor hoping to do some walking and see some wildlife. I'll post some pics if I manage to take any that are worth showing.

That sounds great! Any spare time?? You know where I am!!
I don't like wishing my life away - I'm not keen on winter, but you're right - I've tried to plant things that'll give some pleasure even during the cold months - and they do!
21 Oct, 2009
Wait for the first heavy frost and go for a walk and see all the beautiful, frozen spiders webs and the newly frosted plants. Beautiful.
21 Oct, 2009
Well, I'll be out with H. all wrapped up anyway - every day. I should take the camera on that kind of day, even more so as we don't get many heavy frosts here - we're near the coast.
21 Oct, 2009
We are in a similar situation here and don't get that many really heavy frosts. You should carry your camera at all times as you never know what may appear.
21 Oct, 2009
Yeeeessss Sir! I know that really - but I forget when I have to get me ready with H. dancing round me all excited!
21 Oct, 2009
Now don't forget in future or you will have to stay behind after school and write 100 lines of "I must not forget my camera".
22 Oct, 2009
OK, OK. But I am putting off going out at all today - it's pouring! It was all very well needing rain for the garden, but why can't it rain in the night and let me take H. out without us both coming back soaking wet?
Moan, moan.......
22 Oct, 2009
I agree, rain should only be allowed between the hours of midnight and 0500.
Today has been lovely here with sunshine for most of it. I'm just hoping that the weather on Exmoor will be kind to us.
22 Oct, 2009
Not sure of the forecast for next week - I'll watch it tonight.
