Red Heliconia

Yeah, these do have nice leaves and a pretty bloom. My heliconias get torn leaves too, so they don't look that pretty.
I got a heliconia rostrata around this time last year, and it has gotten taller to about 6 ft. I was told they would bloom after they were about a year old, but I have not seen any sign of the bloom yet. Do you know what time of year that variety blooms?

I think they bloom in summer - fall. However, in the tropics they can bloom almost all year though.
