Lovely autumn colours.

Its lovely Catfinch.....

Queen Catfinch - these colours are very varied and contrast well. One or two of the leaves are less than perfect - I like the crimson one in the centre best, age since falling seems to have added a sort of charachter interest to the image. There are others with more interesting shapes, colouring and markings. I don't normally think of leaves in this way as I have literally millions of them to sweep up each year.

Thank you ...you know I just realized that these colors are the colors that I have used in my home for the walls..and as trim on the outside too...I chose them from the colors of out Madrona trees that are my favorite trees that are indiginous to our area...lol..I call my decor..Madrona..but they are also these lovely fall colors..My mother also loved these colors....and with her chocolate brown eyes..they were lovely for her to wear.

Queen Catfinch - I see you have turned over old leaves on your new avatar wearing a coat of many colours. Are you saying you wish now to be called Mad rona. I have seen these colours in your photos. Normally in a living area many might prefer lighter hues and so I was surprised how well the new colour scheme worked in your house. I suspect that it is because of the amount of light you get from the many windows. On a more practical gardening note; yesterday I purchased a new long handled shovel and brushes to collect leaves. No longer will I need to bend down so low to shovel the leaves. On the other hand perhaps such bending exercise is good and a short handled shovel would also have been better for my young assistant - so maybe it was a mistake after all.

LOL...part of the reason I chose the colors was because of the amount of light..things were washed out in the light from the many windows and the new colors give a warmer more cozy effect and frame the view nicely... :)
Although the section of the house I now reside in does not have these colors..it is a more sandy pink color...oh well..I use these colors in the items in the space and am enjoying it still..lol...now if my sister Ronna were to see what you have written about Mad rona...she might be upset...lol...
as to your assistant ..I am quite sure you will recieve a stern lecture about your choice..but she will want to use it anyway!...lol

thanks Arlene ..right now this is one of my favorite color combo's but never really gave it a thought as I gathered the leaves along the way.. might know I would pick this assortment but did not think of it..lol..I did not used the dark green on my walls at all..more the reddish hues and the tans or golds..but I do have green accents in the house a lot.. :)

Very beautiful art idea. You should print this and frame it for your walls. Sounds like it would suit your decor.

Just mentioned your new avatar on another thread, I like it. I told you about framing some oak leaves in an old gold color frame and set it on the mantle. I have enjoyed it so much. Your colors are my colors. Warm and cozy.

Yes I know..was so surprised when I saw the colors in your house the first time..as I had used them too!..lol..we are just a couple of fall leaf ladies I guess..Your idea of the leaves in the frame on your mantle sounds so nice.. :o)
