What is this Gwen ?
It's very pretty, looks like the flowers and buds of my Oenethera roseum.

Sorry Louise, I´m still new to this game and forgot to put the name on. Now you can see it´s Clavillia, also known as the 4 o´clock plant. I didn´t know the name either and someone kindly told me it. There are different colours on the same plant and it flowers beautifully here. It is just seeding so if you want me to send you some seeds let me know.

Is it a perennial Gwen ?

It's a real beauty.

I love them Bernieh, I´ve never seen them before the appeared in my garden here in Spain.

Yes it was a new one to me too - I've been trying to find this mirabilis ... but no luck so far.

They are seeding at the moment, do you want me to send you some seeds? If so let me have your address privately.

Oh I would so love some seeds but our quarantine laws here are very very strict - without a proper permit it's hard to get seeds through our customs. Thanks so much for the offer though Gwen - I'll keep on trying to see if there's some place over here that stocks this.

That´s a shame Bernieh

Well guess what Gwen ... I've found a Mirabilis nyctaginaceae on ebay over here today ... it's a lovely one - bicolour red and orange!!!! I'm so excited to actually find one!

Ooooh fantastic, that sounds like lovely colours. When will it flower, or is it already in flower there? I´m told mine are Mirabilis jalapa, I wonder what the difference is? x

Gwen - the person selling the mirabilis had labelled it as mirabilis nyctaginaceae which turns out to be incorrect - nyctaginaceae is the family name. I looked it up on google after I purchased it and it turns out to be a mirabilis jalapa - just a bicolour one. It apparently flowers pretty much all year round over here. Hasn't arrived yet and it's only a little one so it'll take time to establish.

Bernieh here they take no time at all to establish, and grow like weeds. I´ve no idea where mine came from but they´re very welcome. I´m going to throw the seeds around the open woodland at the back of the house and see what comes up, as they say. I´m glad you managed to find one at last.

This would look great growing out in the woodland - hope the seeds take off. It's ridiculous getting so excited about finding a plant isn't it!! I was walking around all day beaming!!
