Does this river border your garden, Cathy ?

Actually it does. I live on the river and have a small yard. My home is literally 20 feet from the rivers edge. With the Silver maples falling over into the river I have gone from deep shade to areas of sun and partial shade. Believe it or not but I have a 10 feet volunteer walnut tree that I have let grow just to have adequate shade for my hosta. It doesn't quite reach the Jack-in- the pulpits, so they quietly died back and quit in July instead of still being in their glory into mid August. Oh---I have wild mint that does border closely the river and what a drying party I had this summer!

Do you ever get flooded, being so close to the river ?
