We saw this in the hundreds growing at the side of the roads we think it is an acanthus but we are not sure
stunning foliage though

It is silybum marianum better known as milk thistle

Well yes I actually know milk thistle grows really big
I just never thought of it at all until you mentioned it.
Its not something wehave evergrown and because they were only small I just didnt think about milk thistle at all.
The only reason we thought of acanthus was because we have a friend who collects them thats the reason we took the photo. We dont grow acanthus either lol
We grow nothing prickly !!!! lol

We do grow a lot of prickly plants, some are better than others, not very Feng shui apparently........
