Yes you had a bargain there what year is it. I would of bought that in the 70s for a 10.00 of you lol hehe, I use to load parts of cars and engines years ago and weigh them in, as use to have a scrap business with X , bought them in for 10 . 00 per car depending what good parts could be resold. Do you remember the old Zepher 4 s and the Ford Capri's

So is now classed as a vintage a classic. Yes scrap yards do save a lot of money to get bits from especially if you can't find a part. If you want your car to run effiently and save on fuel drive when damp or wet as it saves and drives better.

Quite right, denser air, more mixture. And less friction from the tyres.
Had a car/garden mix up today..collected what I though were engine bits this morning to give to tuning man for my MGB.. got there to find they were bulbs..narcissus! had fun planting them this afternoon though..all 100! What kind friends I have to surprise me with them.

They are going to bring a carberetter out with a device attached which will add water to the petrol to make the fuel go further, they have known about this for years. I would say very kind friends to give 100 as Narcissus is a scented one. Where have you planted them, are you off your knees yet or are you stuck lol.

The clay is sticky but not that bad!

You should place grit under them before planting as clay retains the water which possible will rot the bulb, with bulbs they like drainage, so each time place a little grit in the hole before planting.
