Many palms and other plants at this house in Point Loma, San Diego,CA. The palms are a little wind blown but still look pretty good. Photo taken Dec. 10, 2009.

I know they're great for screening and for the
front a of big building. I love their long large
leaves and multiple trunks!
I have a video of Traveller's palms in their native
Madagascar...they grow to more 120 feet/ 37 meters
tall. I never imagined they could grow that tall.

I remember our stand got to around 30 feet / 9 metres and had an enormous spread of those banana-like leaves. I have seen stands over 40 feet tall ... can't imagine them taller than that!

Here in San Diego...30ft / 9 m is their ultimate height...I've never
seen them taller -- except in Hawaii, however, no as tall as I
mentioned in my last comment.

Had an enormous stand of travellers palm in my last garden - such an excellent screener! It was at the back of our pool area and it really provided such a sense of privacy - you couldn't see the neighbours at the back at all!
