The smell (scent ?) of the flower isn't everyone's cup of tea - but I like it. What about you Alice ? We should have a section on perfume/scent with peoples likes and dislikes - if only we had 'SmellyScreens' lol !! :-)

I've never smelled it actually and its at the back of the border, not easy to reach. Thats a good idea Muddy.....you could start a blog and see what response you get......

When did they change it's name to Actea...just get used to one name and ,,,,
one of my favourites and I find the perfume intriguing, did you know that this is where Black Cohosh comes from?

Not sure Jen...a year or so ago....was cimicifuga before I think. Am going to try and get a sniff of it when its next in flower......Yes I had heard about the Black Cohosh association......:-)))

If it's what I know as cimicifuga racemosa, the root is the part used for medicinal purposes.
Particularly good for ladies of a certain age, really helps with hot flashes etc!
Speaking from experience there...it works!
