The day after Christmas day is always called Boxing day.
Here in Wales it is also called 'Gwyl San Steffan' ( St.Stephen's day)
I don't know why it's called Boxing day, but it is.

.... something to do with boxed presents being given the day after Christmas.
That's all i know, someone else will surely pick up on it from here ;-)
Just googled it. Tradesmen collected their 'Christmas Box' on Boxing Day.
That's a different origin to what i've heard before but hey ho !
