Montanoa guatemalensis - Daisy Tree

This Central American native looks like it popped up by itself from the large trees at Quail Botanical Gardens. It becomes a pretty large tree to almost 30 feet/ 10 meters tall and about the same spread. The large trees are absolutely spectacular when they blooom in winter. Photo taken Jan. 5, 2010.

Thanks! This tree is in the Asteraceae or Compositae which is the daisy family too.
