Agastache 'Golden Jubilee'

Short lived with me but has an attractive combination of flower and leaf along with the powerful aniseed scent.

Thanks Sixpence, the thistle is Eryngium giganteum 'Miss Wilmott's Ghost'. it is said that this eccentric Victorian lady used to secretly broadcast seed of this plant in any garden that she visited which she didn't find interesting, hence Miss Wilmott's Ghost'.

It's interesting what stories are attached to some plants. I gather you place it there now Mrs Wilmott's Ghost lol.

Like your choice of plants Highalp. And what a true eccentric Miss Wilmott was! Imagine! I wouldn't mind if she'd scattered the seeds in my garden...I like eryngium and Cynara ...very gothic looking~ Do you grow Cardoon?

Hi Lori, I have just published a proper picture of Miss Wilmott's Ghost and also the flower of the Cardoon, I have another picture somewhere of a row of Cardoons that I took up in Scotland which I will put on at a later date.

I have only one picture of the cardoons that I grew..(pre digital pics that I scanned) I loved the look of them...frosted green colour with those lovely jagged edge leaves and as tall as you like! I think I've heard them referred to as "architectural"...Will certainly check out your pics...great plant.
