An old stagehouse become main hall of Dugout Dicks an Inn of sorts. Still in use just 15 years ago. Guests could prepare food and socialize before going out to their, dugouts. I'll post.

It was an old stagehouse, the old coach probably placed more like a sign. This is a very iconic place in my hometown, National Geographic went here and did an article once. Dick may have put it up there to announce his presence from the highway across the river. The sod roof connects to the hillside, more than half of the inside is a cave dugout underground. He'd throw honky tonk parties here.

This was that kind of place. :-) I'd been by only once and had to sit in the car. Dick came out 85 even then, 15 years ago. Doesn't look like anyone runs the place anymore. All through my youth I was fascinated by the wagon on the roof passing on the highway.
I LOVE PAINT YOUR WAGON! :-)

This is the hometown, Salmon Idaho. I need to post the town names, I'm not being very consistent. :-) I would give anything for one of those good old honky tonks. This would be a hot spot too. :-)

How did they get that cart up on the roof ? and why ? It seems a strange place to put a cart.
